ICAO Aviation English Solutions
The International Training Institute develops and delivers quality aviation English language training and testing solutions. Our team of enthusiastic instructors with a passion for travelling, instructing and teaching Aviation English as a foreign language. Each of our instructors holds TEFL accreditation, and have in depth knowledge of the aviation industry.

In the highly competitive aviation industry, it is essential to get ahead and stay ahead of the competition. This is especially true for international and non-native English-speaking students. Our courses will enhance your knowledge and understanding of Aviation English reading, writing, listening and speaking.
As a general rule Flight Training Organisation’s require students to achieve ICAO Level 4 or IELTS (Academic) Level 6.5 to commence flight training. This requirement is for students to understand the knowledge required, and not just ticking the box. This makes a safer pilot, safer crew, safer skys and a safer aviation industry.
Appendix A (Annex 1) of ICAO Doc 9835, which sets out the language proficiency requirements, states that pilots, air traffic controllers and aeronautical station operators shall demonstrate the ability to speak and understand the language used for radiotelephony communications to the level specified in the Appendix. The six descriptors:
- Pronunciation
- Structure
- Vocabulary
- Fluency
- Comprehension
- Interaction
All six descriptors must be met at any given level for a candidate to be rated as having attained that level.
