The Sustainable Aviation Futures EU Congress, hosted at the historic Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, emerged as the premier global platform for stakeholders in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and aviation decarbonization.
From May 6 to 8, 2025, the congress drew more than 1,000 participants from 60 countries, representing airlines, fuel producers, policymakers, investors, and energy developers, underscoring the international commitment to transforming the aviation sector’s environmental footprint.
This three-day event featured over 200 expert speakers who engaged in strategic dialogues addressing the entire SAF value chain. Key topics included SAF production technologies, investment models, and policy frameworks, such as the European ReFuelEU Aviation mandate, as well as emerging innovations like eSAF (electrofuels) and hydrogen-based solutions. The congress also provided a forum for sharing case studies on feedstock diversification and scaling sustainable fuel supply chains, essential for meeting the ambitious 20230 commercial deployment targets.
Networking was a central component, with structured 1-to-1 meetings, roundtables, and premium dinners facilitating partnerships and collanboảtion across sectors. This environment fostered connections among aviation leaders, energy suppliers, and financial institutions, accelerating joint efforts toward decarbonization goals. The event’s emphasis on practical action points and future project partnerships reflects the aviation industry’s urgent need to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining growth.
Moreover, the congress addressed the broader challenges of aviation sustainability, including non-CO2 climate impacts and the integration of SAF into existing infrastructure. Discussion also touched on regulatory harmonization and global SAF corridor development, essential to creating a resilient and scalable sustainable aviation ecosystem.
The Sustainable Aviation Futures EU Congress 2025 served as a vital convergence point for advancing sustainable fuels and fostering international cooperation. By uniting diverse stakeholders, the event significantly contributed to shaping the future of sustainable aviation and supporting Europe’s climate-neutrality ambitions by 2050.
