Rapid growth in Vietnam’s aviation industry is underscored by increasing passenger demand and international connectivity expansion. However, this significant growth presents challenges in airport and airport management.
To efficiently manage over 22 airports nationwide and 10 international hubs, the need for well-trained aviation personnel has never been greater. Meeting ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) global standards for aviation safety and operations grows further from just requirements, they are necessary to acquire competitiveness and compliance in Vietnam’s aviation system. Yet, researchers revealed that prominent management roles in port and airport operations have shown inadequate and lack of renovation in updating knowledge and skills to match ICAO regulations and rising expectations of CAAV.
As an illustration, the year 2023 witnessed extensive logistical delays in a major regional airport due to gaps in staff training for advanced cargo handling procedures. Lessons from this incident highlight the importance of equipping managers with current foundations in operational efficiency and crisis management. By bridging these gaps on a wide supervisory level, airports can prevent unwanted issues and provide smooth and reliable services.

Rather than presenting compliance to managers, upgrading aviation knowledge means empowering them to make informed decisions, implement efficient processes, and foster innovation. This, in turn, creates a ripple effect as better operation accelerates passenger experience and international trust.
The cornerstone lies in structured training programs tailoring all levels of aviation leaders under real-world scenarios, skills, and compliant standards. In building a knowledgeable team of safety and efficiency, Vietnam’s aviation management can soar to new heights.
