On April 6, 2025, Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) proudly launched the inaugural UAV Tournament 2025, marking a significant milestone in the advacêmnt of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology in Vietnam. This competition brought together the brightest minds and most innovative teams to design, control, and showcase UAVs, fostering a vibrant environment of technological creativity and research.
The tournament featured 10 top teams selected through a rigorous screening process: Falcon, Luminis, Vaero DT, Vaero Kthk, LS01, Team01, Skybeast, Vaero UAV, Vaero IT, Vaero VAA. The contest was divided into two main categories to accommodate various skill levels and research focuses:
- Manual Flight: Teams manually controlled drones to drop balls accurately on designated areas.
- Autonomous Flight: Teams developed drones capable of flying and targeting without human intervention
This dual structure allows participants to demonstrate both piloting skills and advanced programming capabilities, reflecting the broad scope of UAV technology.
Throughout intense competition, the Falcon emerged victorious in the manual flight category, showcasing exceptional drone handling and precision. In the autonomous flight category, Vaero Kthk took first place, impressively after third place in annual flight, rounding out the podium with strong performances. The UAV Tournament 2025 was more than just a contest; it was a launchpad for innovative ideas and breakthroughs in drone technology. By bringing together academia and practical challenges, the event highlighted the potential of UAVs to revolutionize various industries, from logistics to surveillance and beyond. The achievements of these pioneering teams set a promising foundation for Vietnam’s future in unmanned aviation.
