On August 5th, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Aviation Exhibition Joint Stock Company partnered with the Vietnam Aviation Academy and the Research Institute for Corporate Quality Evaluation and Human Resource Advancement hosted an event to platform the critical role of human capital development for the Vietnamese aviation sector.
During the conference, specialists emphasized the cultivation of a dynamic workforce in aviation services stands as one of the largest challenges facing the Vietnamese aviation sector.
Present at the workshop were delegates from central institutions, government ministries, foreign consulates in Vietnam, aviation professors, doctoral candidates specializing in aviation research, scientific associations, and educational institutions. This diverse gathering encompassed both local and international aspects of aviation, boasting a participation of over 250 corporate delegates and students.
The primary focus of the seminar revolved around the following core theme: Addressing the demand for exceptionally skilled professionals in the aviation sector, including pilots and aviation engineers. The discussions spanned a range of topics including the cultivation of aviation human resource talent, aviation training curricula offered by both domestic and international educational institutions, as well as the array of challenges faced and potential solutions to enhance aviation technical education.
These efforts were directed towards meeting the requirements of employers, fostering industry growth, and encouraging investment in Vietnam’s aviation industry. Further, the workshop aimed to create avenues for collaboration and networking amongst students, aviation training institutions, and recruitment enterprises, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
Professor Dr. Ha Nam Khanh Giao, the Deputy Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, underscored the importance of developing human resources within the aviation sector, with approximately 30 airports of varying sizes either planned or under construction.
To adequately address the demand for skilled personnel, a strategy involves forging agreements with prominent airport construction corporations and domestic construction firms. This collaboration would involve the transfer of technology related to airport construction. Furthermore, the field of aviation necessitates a versatile workforce, catering not solely to airports and aircraft, but also encompassing ground operations and various business sectors, including airlines. Moreover, it’s imperative to establish partnerships with international universities and educational institutions.
